Hot Sunday, cool bargains.

Well today was all about self indulgence, I have spent the best part of the morning mooching around boot fairs.
I am now and always have been totally in love with car boots. I remember as a little girl trapsing around them with my Granny Emily and coming home with all my finds.
I still do this today and experience the same thrill when unloading my treasures.

Three egg coddlers, a 1960s mug for my son, a wonderful french china mixing bowl, A madeleine tin And little birdie salt and pepper cellar.
Too sweet!

Pyrex is something I've only just started to get into, so I was really happy with this casserol dish, I paid just £50p.  It's a chelsea design pattern made by JAJ they were a company that made Pyrex in the UK until 1973.
The 4 dishes Granny brought me cost £1.00 they are phoenix opal wear and go for £10.00 EACH on ebay!

Ummm then I went wicker mad...

1950s repo wicker bag

Isn't  it beautiful? we love picnicking me and my little man go lots, so this basket is perfect . Now I'm going to have tremendous   fun filling it up with vintage extras.

1930s art deco tear drop necklace and earrings.

Above a cut glass 1940s dressing table pot and ring and jewellery tidy.

And my favourites of the morning the cherry on the cake, these stunning mint condition umbrellas.
My great grandma who's 95 took one look and announced she owned the brown one as a young girl!
The elderly gentlemen   who sold them to me said he'd owned them for 60 years.
swooooooooooon!

Spoils of the secret garden

Today me, my son and some good friends went and explored our small towns secret garden.

We were literally transported into a different time, as you go through the little door sneaked away at the back of an old tudor house, the atmosphere changes entirely.
You could almost believe there was no one else around, its full of big fat droning bees and dainty cream butterflys.
It's the absolute perfect picnic place, and apart from volunteers we were the only ones there.

And the best thing about the garden is they grow fruit, veggies and wonderful smelling herbs, which for a small donation you can pick.

Todays spoils! its apple raspberry crumble time, I can finally use my apple shape dish I found in a charity shop and 50s corer.

                                  Delicious!

I woke up today and felt a little bit 40s

It's overcast here today and my photo shoot got cancelled so I'm pouting!
However I woke up and decided to wear one of the dresses I was
  taking

Also decided to pin curl my locks

Finish it off with brown shoes and this cute 1940s wooden bird brooch (I absolutely have a soft spot for animal and insect brooches ) I'll do a blog post on them really soon

A girl can never have too many shoes…. No really! ;)

I love going out and hunting for that bargain pair of vintage shoes.
Second hand shoes are a well kept secret amongst most people, nobody wants to admit to owning shoes someone else has worn. Well not me folks! this gal loves second hand bargains I will cheerfully rescue and revive all these poor unwanted shoes then i’ll parade about proudly telling anyone whos intrested (and more often than not those who aren’t!)

                                                            Aren’t they gorgeous?
There’s several things about buying vintage/second hand
1: You get a one off
2: You’re recycling
3: It doesn’t cost the earth, check out these sweet little snake skin heels a steal at £5.00! and their a great quality make http://www.bertieshoes.com/
